LDEA SEN Motion

Text of SEN Motion to Spring Conference 2008

The Liberal Democrat Education Association is an Associated Organisation of the Liberal Democrat Party. The members are Liberal Democrats who are interested in education.

Among our members are school and college governors, teachers and lecturers, councillors, administrators, educationalists, people involved in Children and Young People's services, parents - and other people who are concerned about how our children and young people are educated in the 21st century.


Clegg: I'll keep banging on about education - it's important!

On his visit to the LDEA stand at the Spring Conference in Liverpool, Lib Dem Leader Nick Glegg reaffirmed his commitment to education. The LDEA members gathered at their exhibition stand assured the leader of their commitment to developing LibDem education policy, and cited the SEN motion passed that morning as an example. The LDEA will be engaging engaging fully with the Schools Commission, on which its members are well represented. Individual members will also make their expertise available to the Party. Our website will provide a showcase for LibDem educational thought and practice.

SEN motion passed

The LDEA sponsored special educational needs motion was passed today at the Spring Conference. One amendment was accepted; a second one defeated.
